Located at 539 Deer Park Ave, Dix Hills, NY 11746, Long Island Bonsai Supply operates as a specialty plant nursery serving Dix Hills in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Dix Hills, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New York, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Hours are published for 1 day a week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–4 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Long Island Bonsai Supply at (516) 521-6940; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, libonsaisupply.com.

Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 9 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Dix Hills is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Dix Hills is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Really surprised by the negative reviews. This was a beautiful place with everything bonsai you could imagine. I appreciated being able to walk the greenhouses in unbothered serenity. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on all the tree species. They gave helpful advice, and answered all my questions. I appreciate the candid expectation management for each tree too. While I love the outdoor bonsia, they were very honest about skill and time commitments. A less genuine business could have just taken my money and let me deal with an expensive self inflicted failure.. Not the case …They set me up for success with a beautiful budget friendly tree appropriate for my level of expertise. These are people very passionate about the hobby (active members of the bonsia society ) and it reflects in all aspects of the store. I felt like i was in a curated bonsai museum versus a sale driven store. Winter is a slow time for gardens in generally but definitely go visit spring / summer if for only the zen experience alone. I really want to add a jade buddy for my current tree and will be back!

Beware the store is only staffed on β€œmost Saturdays” according to the outdoor pond supplier on the same property. However I was told the greenhouse is unlocked and I was free to look around.

What a beautiful shop! Chris is very knowledgeable and down to earth. His friendly way made me feel very comfortable asking questions about something I know very little about. You should definitely check this place out.
